National Signing Day 2016 Thread

I have always been a fan of Charlie Strong.  I hope he can win some games this year and continue to get the support from the administration and keep this momentum rolling.  He is building a monster.

As I listened to the commits talk about Charlie, the two words that I heard the most were straight-forward and honest.  During his presser those were my exact thoughts.  At times,  I thought he gave away too much of his strategies (although most are probably common) and overall approach to recruiting. After processing what he said it is plainly obvious that he is a genuine guy that works hard, sticks to his core values and is a man of great character.  I know this isn't old news, but again his presser and watching him interact with the players yesterday absolutely exemplified who he is and what he stands for.  I for one and proud to have him as our coach and a representative of the great University of Texas.  Gentlemen, we have us a good coach and a man of honor whose brightest days are ahead of him.  Success on the field this year and I can see him eclipsing what Mack accomplished here.  I know I'm coming off of a major high yesterday, but like to think I'm an optimist and a realist.

Thanks to all of you who contribute your insights, humor, rumor and all that it implies.  Special thanks to Juan.  Keep it up brother.  I don't know how you do it, but your efforts are appreciated.

It's always a great day to be a Longhorn!!

Word is we had a legit shot at flipping DT Mike Williams because he liked Charlie so much.

Tren'Davian Dickson loved Strong but bailed because of our offense

I was hoping he would jump back on board after the hiring of new OC, being that we will be running a similar system.  Not sure that we tried to get him back on board, but I like what we have in our WR corps.  Kid is going to light up some scoreboards though..

Would have loved to have him, Devin Duvernay and Davion Curtis .

Glad we got Curtis though.

We need an AMEN button here.  My thoughts exactly, however I didn't have the ability to put this into words.  I think this should be the post of the year.

Same here.  I like Reggie the Recruiter, but he disappeared a lot in his games last year.  I know Manvel was stacked, but there were games that he was barely a contributor and even games with 0 catches. Prefer both the guys you mentioned, but I trust Charlie.

Hammy claims Briles negatively recruited the crap out of Strong/Texas to Brandon Jones on his OV
Didn't I read a report that BJ called somebody while in Waco and said something like, "I'm not committing here". This all makes sense now. Wonder if Briles/Sumlin will learn their lesson...I hope not... ;)

Also makes you wonder what was told to Hudson...when he tweeted out the orange question mark, he said he had made up his mind

I can see 8-4 for the regular season, although it will be fr from easy. The QB question will determine a lot.

aggy blowing up again today

Their new QB - Tater Tot -- is mad that they offered another QB

Just another day in paradise

re: Irv Smith --

Irvin Smith Sr. had some kind of ties to both Bama and aggy

We could never win him over (he lives in Ariz.)

Irv, Jr canceled our in-home while our coaches were already on the road in the state of LA

We were none too happy about that

So if you ever see the dad, feel free to kick him in the nads for me
sucks to be him.
