Spurrier quits mid-season

South Carolina is one of the worst teams in the country. They are terrible. I think Spurrier just hit a wall and said I can't fix this.

I am not surprised he is retiring. He is 70. But to do it in the middle of the season...effective immediately. Something funky? Or just can't stand losing.

Spurrier's ego won't let him quit unless it's on his terms.

USCe's administration & boosters probably had a heart to heart with him about 2015 being his last season. HBC says, "Screw it, I'm done". Kind of petty on his part, but he needed to retire IMO. He's lost it.

Maybe we'll see him on the ESPN set instead of Corso. If he's on SECn, I won't watch.

He is 70 years old...I'm surprised he didn't finish the season, but at 70 coaching football isn't easy. There may be some underlying health issues forcing him out mid-stream. One would think he would announce retirement and finish it out like Grant did at Baylor. It got him some calls down the stretch. May have worked for Steve and SC...LOL

You ain't kidding it got Teaff some calls! In fact, the Oklahoma St. game this year was the worse I can remember seeing since the Texas/Baylor game that year...

Reports that Mack Brown is expressing interest in the South Carolina gig.
