Played a great game on Offensive the D still has work but played against a very good QB. This young team who is playing 13-19 true freshman is getting better every week.  Now we have a QB to build around. It is my love forTexas that will sustain me through this rebuilding process.  My friends y'all have a blessed week

Morning Jim- hope your doing well-

I'm thinking that history can repeat- this feels a bit like my freshman year- 1968-

if the defense can find a little magic to go with Heard - who knows what greatness  lies ahead.

probably just indigestion!

Be well

Can I really be happy today after a loss last night? Oh heck yes because we have the one thing we've been missing since 2009 -- a QB with an actual skill set. I cannot for the life of me see how Shawn Watson did not see this. The guy has been a college coach for some time, yet he could not see the Heard has "it" and Swoopes does not. Swoopes is by all accounts a terrific kid, but just because he wears the same uniform size as VY doesn't mean he is VY. The UT coaches past and present did this kid a huge disservice. Mack burned his redshirt and hardly played him, then Charlie should have moved him to TE in the spring after that disastrous end of season performance.

All that said, it's great to be a Longhorn today. We have a QB who others will want to play with. We already have a great group of WRs committed to go with Burt, Foreman, etc. Hopefully Clarington enrolls at semester and is the TE we've needed for years. Our OL will only get better with experience.

Defensively we have a lot of work to do and we seem to be losing kids to other programs. Hopefully Charlie can flip a few of these kids because that is where we need the most help right now, on that side of the ball.

I hate to lose, but damn if I'm not just a little giddy today. Hook'em and #LetsridetheHeard

Jim, it is always good to hear your thoughts about Texas football !

I hope you are feeling well.

I love you man.

Good stuff Jim.  I agree on all counts.  Youth is the order of the season on The Forty Acres.  The future looks very bright.
