2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

I was going through the recruiting chat on scout and was confused by a reply to a question that higs wrote regarding why Murray wasn't going to schedule an OV to Texas. He said "it will all make sense on national signing day why Murray isn't going to schedule an OV to Texas." Can anyone make sense of this response?

Well, yea. If you're coming to Texas anyway, why set up an OV? He just had about as good a visit with the staff as one could have hoped for. Rinse, repeat a week later? Why?

I know little about John Burt, but from all I’ve read, he is a stand up kid.

Seems he has been very honest… and transparent with Texas and Charlie Strong… throughout the entire process.

If it’s true he is now a Texas commit again… the fact that Charlie has allowed him back… is a direct reflection to the kid’s character… and talent… and also Charlie Strong’s… and a vote of confidence to Charlie’s transparent approach to recruiting.

The fact that Mack related how his official visit was much different than he expected… is further evidence of that, IMO.

Burt's parents are UT grads. He's been seeing Bevos all his life.

Burt has been recruiting for UT, particularly at the Armor all-star game and in particularly - Kai Locksley. Burt has been on him hard.

Base on what I have found, a Blueshirt counts in the next recruiting class. I'm sure the Murray's financial situation is different from some of the other recruits.

Most schools that use the Blueshirt process are maximizing the number of recruits that they can get signed and on campus.

Not saying this is the case in Murray's situation but with the number of kids interested in Texas, this could be a strong possibility.
That's a good possibility. I wouldn't doubt if it also had something to do with the baseball end of things. I have a feeling that if he's coming here it will be in some unorthodox way

I'm sorry but I just can't see one of the top players in the country agreeing to a blue shirt...if KM is coming, he is taking a spot in this years class on UT's dime IMO

That being said, I don't care how he gets here, as long as he gets here.
It doesn't make sense to me either, something tells me that some employers will be getting poor work production from Longhorns fans on February 4th.

My god, I'm nervous as hell and excited at the same time!!! Love what I'm hearing right now but 10days is a long time and a lot can change between now and then. Just think about the changes we have had the last 10 days and the 10 days before that.

BTW my chips are still on black, spin the wheel.
my chips are all in on burnt orange!!!

isn't he supposed to take an unofficial to tcu next weekend?  if he is committing to us then why take that visit?

He probably feels he owes to their coaches, who he's grown close to. I don't think TCU does anything on the visit that will knock his socks off, but I could be wrong. Texas certainly did.

I think Mack spends time at TCU thinking about Texas, much like Brossette just spent a weekend at LSU thinking bout Texas.

I don't think the NCAA allows a secret OV.
When I say that I mean they visited and saw all they needed to see under the radar. Going to basketball games and having dinner is great, but I'm sure they wanted to see the facilities, talk football business, and get educated on the academic support being offered.

It's been reported that we won't take all three, so this is big news if correct. I've never been a member of IT, so I don't know how accurate they are.

Someone posted over there that they had a source saying we get all three.

Nahlin said he would agree with that.

Would be best to call in sick rather than risk being fired when IT shows up with your web browsing clicks and wants an explanation. lol

An OV isn't critical, but it's two days to see everything UT has to offer versus one. And UT picks up the tab for him and his family.

Of course he can still sign with us.
This is assuming that their visit this past week was their first one. From what I've read and head was that this has been going on for a month or more already. The only reason we know of the visit this past week is because of the tweet of the jersey. Which also from my understand wasn't suppose to happen.

My take is - Malik probably got an earful over the weekend of the negative recruiting that these recruits were probably told.

For instance, Mack talked about how his visit was so much different than he expected.
Exactly what I was thinking.

If it wasn't supposed to happen and Kyler did it anyway, that can only be seen as a great sign.

1) It would seem to me that he made up his mind and wanted people to know.

Or

2) He asked for permission to visit UT, Sumlin said no, he posted the pic as a big burnt orange middle finger.
