2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

His dad not going to A&M and coming to Texas means nothing other than he knows all about Aggy, but just wants to check out Texas...and talk to WRs and RBs who are visiting; to convince them to go to Aggyland.
Maybe, maybe not.

Here is some info from another poster (Jayakris) on TOS

Not true about Kevin Murray. They put a lot of the FedEx scam on him, and he considerably soured with many people at A&M and pretty much the whole aggy fanbase. But he is an aggy still. The thing is that he just doesn't like the air raid offense and the associated poor defense that Sumlin runs. He has made no bones about it and has been pretty critical. He is a big fan of Watson's offensive philosophies and thoughts on QBs, and they have quickly become big friends too.

When it comes to his own son, and more importantly, considering the baseball future Kyler has (expected to be a first round pick if he goes to MLB), his interest in Texas is understandable. There were many many reports for months that he has been trying to turn Kyler away from a&m to wards Texas. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, but if Kyler says he is okay with it, even aggy admits that Kevin probably will be a bit happier. The son's future is more important to a dad than college affiliation (just like Hager sending his son to Baylor). The reason why this visit happened is actually Kevin Murray. The reason why Kyler Murray may still not come to Texas will be his liking of his friends at A&M. Plus, don;t forget that he is probably going to sit behind Kyle Allen for 2 years now, whereas he could immediately start at QB at Texas and decide on his future and go for baseball if it doesn't work out. So, there are things in play in our favor here. The dad probably likes this option more than the a&m option at this point. I will be surprised if Kyler Murray agrees with his dad, though.

Also, a great former Longhorn, Calivin Murray, is his uncle. He is supposed to have been pushing Kyler for a long time to Texas too.

I am seeing unconfirmed reports that Kyler met Augie Garrido today too, Unsure."

You must be kidding.  I went on all of my kid's visits.  I wanted to make certain they were getting all of the information needed, and wanted an opportunity to see things for myself.  In addition, they wanted me to go, so that we could discuss the visits intelligently.

If you aren't kidding, then you must trying to get a reaction; however, this is the wrong site.  Sorry about that.

Who are they going to convince? Nobody else was visiting. Logic isn't your strong point. The reason Lodge was visiting is probably due to Murray and his dad.

Maybe they are going to flip Malik even though he's already enrolled.

The Murray situation looks good, but I'm going to wait for more smoke. Getting him and Lodge in for a visit is one thing. Now, we wait.

Seeing that Murray was sporting a UT jersey made for him, it sounds like Texas reacted quickly to the visit and had the best foot forward, so to speak.

This is what we needed to have happen though, for sure.

Holy crap, just finished a long day at work and was drained until I read the last 7 pages on here. My mind is blown right now, I don't even know what to think. I knew this was going to be a roller coaster of a ride till NSD but damn... Didn't expect this!! Hookem!!

Murray to Texas puts a lot more $$$ on the table when negotiating with a MLB club after the MLB draft than Murray to Aggy.....So there is that reason for he and his dad to be interested in Texas.

LOL!  Now that's a dismal outlook.  and I thought I was a wet blanket.

This is a very enjoyable recruiting season.  I still enjoy Santa Claus, and have never wanted to read about The Grinch.  What about y'all?

I thought Auburn had all the cash?

How much at play do you guys think we are at Kevin Murray coming on staff for football OR baseball? We still need a ST coach.

I have read that Kyler Murray's "advisor"/future baseball agent is Scott Boras.

And he may have also played a role in getting Kyler to consider Texas as the best option among the college baseball choices
