since the abysmal showing by the Longhorns in the Texas Bowl.  Today's announcement by Davis gives it to me.

There ARE great high school football players out there who want to come to the University of Texas and help restore the

Longhorns to college football prominence.  We're a long way from there...but there's hope it can all get fixed in a couple

of years.

Some on this site have questioned this coaching staff's ability to recruit within the state.  I think it is just a matter of time until they will be able to "pick and choose" the players they want from the state.  I base my opinion on the success Strong has had getting kids from the Florida area to come here.  If after the season we just had, he can still pull out of state players to UT, his reputation within his "home" area must be looked upon very favorable by the Florida High school coaches and athletes.  I am impressed & extremely optimistic.  Let's Ride.

I'm very proud to have Coach Strong at Texas.  I never want to feel like some of my Aggie family members.  One stated at Thanksgiving that he enjoyed the attention the Aggies have had the last few years,  but he wished he could feel proud of his school again- but could NOT because of the total lack of class it had exhibited.

It can't be emphasized enough. Swoopes might have looked competent had he had a weapon to work with at TE.

With all due respect SHA, I don't think swooped could consistently hit an open TE or receiver. His accuracy is not good. It will be nice to have a TE of his caliber on the team though.

I am excited about the kids from South Florida.  I believe they will bring a different attitude to this team that has been lacking over the last several years.  

I'm sure there will be some conflicts with other team mates because not everyone is going to like their attitude towards football.

I Played HS football here in south Florida and will say this... Everyone in south Florida knows that you should fear the booker t Washington football team. It truly is a dangerous environment where the kids know you better make playing football. The attitude exist here. I'm pretty happy a pipeline has opened up down here.
