"Best Player in the Whole Damn State!"

I lived in New Mexico after being born and raised in Texas.  New Mexico high school football is not at the same level as Texas high school football, but Daharjac is failing to consider that Gentry had great success despite being surrounded by lesser talent than that found in Texas high schools.  In New Mexico, it is also rare to to find a school system with a 'program'.  In Albuquerque, I guarantee that there is no 'program' and no support for a 'program'.

There used to be a great program in Roswell, but I have no idea if it is still in place.  During that time, Roswell won state championship after state championship.

I am excited about Gentry, and he looks like he is all Longhorn.  He will have the time to acclimate to the WW (Watson/Wickline) offense and The University.  We can be certain that Strong will make his qb selection based on merit.

Hook 'em, Zack!

Roswell, New Mexico winning all those state championships...easy to explain. Obviously, several

of their players were descendants of the aliens that landed there back in 1948.  Their success on

the football field was due to their "other worldly" abilities...

I went to Roswell a few years ago. I picked up a bumper sticker that said "My other car is a UFO".

When I lived there, I traveled the entire state for work and spent quite a bit of time in Roswell.  I always thought they played good football because because they breathed Texas air.
