YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN TEXAS IN JULY WHEN. . . .
The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
The trees are whistling for the dogs.
The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
Hot water now comes out of both taps.
You can make sun tea instantly.
You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly.
You discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end
up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and
add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying
boiled eggs.

This has to be one of the funniest things in a long time. I think this guy should have been promoted, not fired. This is a true story from the WordPerfect Helpline, which was transcribed from a recording monitoring the customer care department. Needless to say the Help Desk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the WordPerfect organization for 'Termination without Cause.'

Actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee.
(Now I know why they record these conversations!):

Operator:         'Ridge Hall, computer assistance; may I help you?'
Caller:              'Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect.'
Operator:         'What sort of trouble??'
Caller:             'Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words
                        Went away.'
Operator:         'Went away?'
Caller:              'They disappeared'
Operator:         'Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?'
Caller:              'Nothing.'
Operator:         'Nothing??'
Caller:              'It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type.'
Operator:         'Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?'
Caller:              'How do I tell?'
Operator:         'Can you see the 'C: prompt' on the S creen?'
Caller:              'What's a sea-prompt?'
Operator:         'Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?'
Caller:              'There isn't any cursor; I told you, it won't accept anything I
                        Type.'
Operator:         'Does your monitor have a power indicator??'
Caller:              'What's a monitor?'
Operator:         'It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV.
Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?'
Caller:               'I don't know.'
Operator:          'Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where
The power cord goes into it. Can you see that??'
Caller:              'Yes, I think so.'
Operator:         'Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's
                        plugged into the wall.
Caller:              'Yes, it is.'
Operator:         'When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that
there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just
                         one? '
Caller:               'No.'
Operator:          'Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and
                         find the other cable.'
Caller:               'Okay, here it is.'
Operator:          'Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into
                         the back of your computer.'
Caller:               'I can't reach.'
Operator:          'OK. Well, can you see if it is?'
Caller:               'No.'
Operator:          'Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean
                         way over?'
Caller:               'Well, it's not because I don't have the right angle -- it's
                         because it's dark.'
Operator:          'Dark?'
Caller:               'Yes - the office light is off, and the only light I have is
                         coming in from the window.'
Operator:           'Well, turn on the office light then.'
Caller:               'I can't.'
Operator:          'No? Why not?'
Caller:               'Because there's a power failure.'
Operator:           'A power ... A power failure? Aha. Okay, we've got it
licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and
packing stuff that your computer came in?'
Caller:                'Well, yes, I keep them in the closet.'
Operator:           'Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it
up just like it was when you got it.
Then take it back to
the store you bought it from.'
Caller:                'Really? Is it that bad?'
Operator:           'Yes, I'm afraid it is.'
Caller:                'Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?'
Operator:           'Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer!

The Wal-Mart Greeter

A very loud, very unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into
Wal-Mart with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

The Wal-Mart Greeter said pleasantly 'Good morning, and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?'

The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, 'Hell no they ain't.  The older one's 9 and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?'

'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am,' replied the greeter 'I just couldn't believe you got laid twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.'

9 WORDS WOMEN USE

 (1) Fine: ? This is the word women use to end an

argument when they are right and you need to shut

 up.

 (2) Five Minutes: ? ?If she is getting dressed, this

means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five

minutes if you have just been given five more

minutes to watch the game before helping around the

 house.

(3)Nothing: ? ?This is the calm before the storm.

This means something, and you should be on your

toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end

 in fine. ?

(4)Go Ahead: ? This is a dare, not permission. Don't

 Do It! ? ?

 (5) Loud Sigh: ? This is actually a word, but is a

non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A

loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and

wonders why she is wasting her time standi ng here

and arguing with you about nothing. ? (Refer back to

 # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

 (6) That's Okay: ? This is one of the most dangerous

statements a women can make to a man. That's okay

means she wants to think long and hard before

deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

 ?

 (7) Thanks: ? A woman is thanking you, do not

question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want

to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she

says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she

is not thanking you at all. ?DO NOT say 'you're

welcome' ... that will bring on a 'whatever').

(8)Whatever: Is a women's way of saying ?Damm YOU!

 (9) Don't worry about it, I got it: ?Another

dangerous statement, meaning this is something that

a woman has told a man to do several times, but is

now doing it herself. This will later result in a

man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response

 refer to # 3.

 * Send this to the men you know, to warn them about

 arguments they can

avoid if they remember the terminology.

 * Send this to all the women you know to give them a

good laugh, cause they know it's true.
