Magnificent Mother Nature

And to think!  Somebody had to stand there for a great long while while the time exposure ran it's course, while the giant volcano butterfly slowly dipped it's proboscis into the volcano for a refreshing drink of Mother Earth's nectar.  I think I woulda been askeered!

You know, the thing about proboscis is it is hard to misspell it with spell check and the possibility of looking it up on gurgle if you are not so sure!  Proboscis!   PROBOSCIS!  ;)

Went there once on the way to Utah.  It is even more impressive in person than it is in pictures.  When we were there it was about 90 F.  The big thing popping up out of the desert plateau that you can see from the crater is Humphrys Peak about 50 miles away, North of Flagstaff.  It was an almost perfectly clear day with only a few clouds beginning  to build on the Northeast side of the mountain.  When we got to Flagstaff about noon we took a break at a bookstore for a couple of hours.  By the time we were leaving Flagstaff, we were hit by rain then snow from that little cloud that had built up a tad ... such is early winter weather on the Coconino Plateau.

Now, listen here Topstarr!  I hope that you do not think that I am accusing you of being the possessor of the great proboscis that drinks the nectar of Mother Earth from the volcano!  Besides, now I am beginning to think that it is now looking more like a giant lightening infested yellowjacket.  And for that, I don need no stinkin winky!
