McPhaul-hearing Morris to Texas isn't dead yet

    Certainly not 'everything' but enough!!

CROSSFIRE with McPhaul - NEW YEAR’S DAY EDITION

No question John Harbaugh is a terrific coach. I wonder however about the transition from a long stint in the NFL to the more interesting aspects of the college game, specifically recruiting. Just wondering since I believe recruiting has been the thing that has taxed many coaches most severely...

Crossfire with McPhaul - Holiday Edition - 12/29/2013

There's shooting oneself in the foot and then there's the current display put on by MBTF. Talk about being out of touch with reality!

    This Is What I'm Hearing

Good Lord, is he (apparently not) happy with having drawn down $50M+ over the years, excluding the golden parachute that he was given to 'retire'. If Jamail has an hand in this, and I'm sure he must, then shame on him as well. This is disgusting. I hope Mack comes to whatever senses he has left.

Good read. Although incredibly regrettable, I believe it would be wise to move onfrom Saban. I feel sure he's seen enough of this circus to realize that it's tough gig.

    Thoughts on coaching search

It'd be wise for everyone to acknowledge that the Saban deal was very much alive and well. Actually, better than alive and well. To dismiss it is to fall into the same sort of trap that engulfed Bill Powers and to let the collection of individuals that queered the deal, off the hook. Yes, it's...

From Chip sounds like Texas just barely avoided an all out war

And that is totally inexcusable.................and if it costs Powers and esp. Mack a lot of good will, they should know that they brought it all on themselves. I know one thing, I'm not even a SMD but I won't be taking calls from the development office anytime soon.

    Mack is DEAD to us!

Why in the world do you think he was stuck with that kind of QB in the first place? Correct, mismanagement and poor player development among other things like blown recruiting, lousy coaching and the list goes on. How in the world anyone can give this guy another pass is a complete mystery...

I know some will disagree with this

Good thoughts and a needed 'time out' for all of us.

And Condi loves football and, obviously, academics (Stanford). Man, that could be a great combo.

It will be a huge plus if Patterson and whomever handle things very differently in terms of 'exposure'. Clearly, the current staff's preoccupation with what's being said or written is both foolish and a waste of time, time that could have been better spent in just about any pursuit relative to...

Absolutely right on..................points out what can happen when complacency and meaningless stats take over and a multitude of warning signs are ignore or mischaracterized via an ongoing disinformation campaign. Who was watching the store? Oh, that's right, he's retired. Still, at best...

As it has been from the outset, it would seem that our biggest obstacle (in securing a desired coach) is our own inability to handle things more discreetly. I just hope that this isn't our undoing and that it will be interpreted in a less negative light (as in enthusiasm, excitement etc.).

    Your Wish List for Patterson

The Pac 12, even though it has drawbacks, would, long term be a good choice for UT. The demographics for that conf are going to be amazing. Like the Randa Ryan idea as well. Davis is one of Mack's boys and has had plenty of missteps. That whole group needs to be 'reworked', including Ms Bryant...
