He's the leading receiver because he gets tons of targets. I feel like if we need a critical 3rd down catch, he isn't the guy. I'd rather we look to throw it to DeAndre Moore.Wingo is the leading receiver on this team by a lot.
Mosley and Moore definitely have better hands. Still can't believe we suck at utilizing Endries. He's the leading receiver because he gets tons of targets. I feel like if we need a critical 3rd down catch, he isn't the guy. I'd rather we look to throw it to DeAndre Moore.
But they don't have the yards after catch ability of Wingo. Per Google AI Wingo has had only five official drops this year. So 55 targets minus 29 completions equals 26 incompletions. 26 incompletions minus 5 drops equals 21 misses that weren't drops. There are probably several reasons for these incompletions and I highly doubt they were all Wingo's fault.Mosley and Moore definitely have better hands. I can't tell you how much I disagree with this kind of thinking.....there are hundreds and hundreds of guys that can flat out run! What gets them millions of NIL bucks and a front row to be NFL drafted is they are supposed to be able to catch the ball....any QB that starts throwing softballs is gonna be intercepted sooner or later.I hope he has more touch than Arch. That bullet that Arch threw at Wingo on the slant would have been caught with a little touch.
I bet he also leads in dropped passes... by a lot.Wingo is the leading receiver on this team by a lot.
Sark brought up Lacy unsolicited when talking about Caldwell. Don't be surprised if we see Lacy - for no other reason than ineffectiveness. That goes against the Sark way, but again.... he brought up Lacy. And Lacy passed Owens up.
I totally agree he gives us the best chance at big plays. But as of right now, he's not the guy to go to for critical first downs. He's still young and has time to develop, but he's not quite there or close to the level of Jeremiah Smith or Ryan Williams. I noticed on a couple of deep passes to Wingo, instead of high pointing the ball, he didn't jump and just let the DB knock it down against Miss St.But they don't have the yards after catch ability of Wingo. Probably. If he wants to be a starting QB. He certainly has the arm strength.I guess Owens will be gone soon.
I can't blame the guy. He'll never see the field here unless something catastrophic happens. Good luck to the young man. I hope he picks a team where he can flourish.I guess Owens will be gone soon.
When he first arrived at campus I heard how he has an NFL arm.... and he's a natural leader.... and not to sleep on him competing with higher ranked recruits.I had heard before the season started, that Owens was sliding down the chart for football reasons. I got the idea that he was not putting in the work.
This is a great segment from Brooks Austin on Arch Manning that aired on the Finebaum show yesterday. It's around 10 mins in length but well worth the watch.
Can’t catch the ball on your shoulder. Gotta use your hands. Wingo reminds me of John BurtI hope he has more touch than Arch. That bullet that Arch threw at Wingo on the slant would have been caught with a little touch.
