Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

Things that piss you off . . . .

The last several days I've listened to ESPN's college off-campus (sirius) and how they're pumping up the national title game.

To summarize, I wanted to throw up.

Absolutely NO RESPECT for Texas. No recognition of how that could have played out differently. Texas was just lucky sperm and got abused.

Then they host Ryan Day, who told the world he was upset with his team for making some mistakes against Texas. Nothing about Texas having anything to do with it. Our success was only due to mistakes they made, he said.

I hope we tear that man a new one when we play next fall. Foot on the throat type stuff. I wish our team members could have listened to what he said.

For the first time in my entire life, I will root for Notre Dame.

So what does the prospective OL starters look like for next year?

Will it be Goosby, Agbo/Umeozulu, Cruz/Hutson, Campbell, Baker?

Everyone loves the backup QB. WTH are we going to say if AM doesn't live up to his hype?
The trouble for Quinn was not only the expectations of being a perfectly graded recruit but also that he had another perfectly graded recruit as his backup.

Manning, even if he struggles, will not have a fellow 5 star QB breathing down his neck.

I would not put it behind our fanbase to raise a fuss but I don't think things will be as noisy as the past two seasons.

I think thats a pretty good group. We may add the USC guard transfer.

Neto has been called into question about his pass blocking, but his run blocking is pretty damned good.

Having depth sure is nice.

Rumors of Dallas possibly intrrested in Choice for the staff. Not surprised but wouldn’t like that for the Horns.

Here's a question I'm sure has been addressed on this board. If a team or NIL entity spends 9 figures does Title IX expand its budget for that school?

From what I understand, only direct payments from the school are subject to Title IX. Texas was planning on distributing about $20m mostly to revenue generating programs (75% to football), but a recent ruling said it falls under Title IX and would have to be distributed evenly between men’s and women’s programs
