The coaching carousel seems to be gaining momentum. So far Oklahoma State ,Arkansas , Penn State and Florida.

Up next Florida State,Auburn Wisconsin, Maryland...?

I don't have any insight into who these schools will hire, but Thought it would make a good thread.

Ole Miss after Lane leaves for Florida.

Here are some possibilities.
Marcus Freeman to Florida.
James Franklin to Auburn.
Eric Morris to Arkansas.
Matt Rhule to Penn St.
G J Kinne to Oklahoma St.

My Florida State friend wants Norvell gone now, so FSU can also go after Kiffin also... Besides a Brinks truck, he thinks they would pitch easier path to Playoffs in ACC vs SEC.

IMO, if I'm Freeman, I don't leave ND. Its a prestigious job. He's doing well there. Why rock the boat?

I realize money talks but ND pays him well already.

Perhaps Arkansas already has their coach, Bobby Petrino.

I remember a few years back the view was that the academic standards make it a difficult place for recruiting. Not sure if that's still viewed as an issue.

I think the SEC is the pinnacle every coach strives for.

Freeman: isnt leaving ND unless he gets a shot at the Oh St job.

Rhule: Penn St firing a guy because of his record vs top teams for a guy with similar results against top teams would be LOL funny.

I think Florida is Kiffin's to turn down. The big donors see him as another Steve Spurrier.

No matter what Kiffin does, he and Jimmy Sexton are going to make a bunch of money, as are all of the current coaches that are viewed as desirable.

I guess it's capitalism. It seems to me that offset clauses (like what James Franklin had) and performance clauses should be the norm. Heck even up the salaries even higher if needed, but don't tolerate huge contracts that reward coaches that fail.

Agreed.

It depends on the circumstances and how Kiffin feels about it. Kiffen has changed jobs A BUNCH of times. Is he tired of moving his family around the country yet? Or does Florida just money whip him?

And Ole Miss might be inclined to match or beat any offer Florida throws down.

Should be interesting, but I agree, Kiffin is probably candidate #1 for Florida.
