1973 — Texas A&M fans take the Rice Marching Band hostage
During their halftime performance, the Mighty Owl Band mocked Reveille, the mascot of Texas A&M.
The Aggie supporters were so mad, that the band was forced to hide in a tunnel for two hours after the game, until they were able to sneak away in the back of food service trucks

I remember. Idiots.

The Mob, Rice band, made fun of Texas band. They had a red wagon with a snare drum that made fun of Big Bertha. They had mops making fun of the flag team. Everyone laughed. It was funny. Aggies are idiots.

The Rice band has never been tactful with their satirical insults at the stadiums they visit.

I remember seeing the UT band do a tribute to the MOB one game... Everyone scrambled around and to get to positions and I think they left their shoes in formation... not sure.

I was at that game. That routine got a lot of laughs. You never left your seat during halftime when playing Rice. Never wanted to miss a MOB performance

I remember going to a Rice game to watch the Mob and Ricky Williams. The Mob was funny and entertaining. They were all over the field.On the same night I remember one play where Ricky Williams ran over a Rice defensive lineman, juked a DB out of his shoes, then out ran the rest of Rice team for a TD. I shook my head and thought: It's not fair Ricky playing against Rice. Between the Mob and Ricky, it was a fun night.
