Georgia's athletic department is headed to court to try to obtain $390,000 in damages from a former standout defensive end who transferred from the school after his sophomore season in a potentially precedent-setting case.

With the new 105 scholarship limit, plus the freshman class of 23, we will be able to take 3 less portal additions then the number of players leaving.

The number of players leaving is always hard to predict at this time of the year. We don't have that many seniors, and it's hard to predict how many juniors will enter the NFL draft, or how many players will enter the portal. I obviously have no clue, but would be surprised if we didn't have at least 20 spaces for portal additions.

It should be interesting to see how the portal class fills out.

No surprise here. This was bound to happen when recruits sign a deal, only to change their mind shortly after. I doubt they'll win the suit tho. Im sure agents will be excluding this type of language out of contracts going forward, if they havent already.

It was approved yesterday.

SEC presidents reportedly voted to increase the number of maximum scholarships for football rosters from the current amount of 85.

Makes sense. Everyone was obviously hoping he would pick up next year where he left off before his injury. These days with NIL and the portal there's no telling what factors led to his decision.

Hopefully he finds a new school that allows him to realize his tremendous potential.

Correct. No one entering the portal will play in the bowl.

Sucks to see Baxter go but clearly wasn’t the same post injury. Wish him the best in a speedy recovery to get back to what he was.
