My wife surprised me with purchase of Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine. I have read it from cover to cover. It was a surprise because I quit buying the magazine two years ago after buying one each year going back to the 60s. I still like the format from the 60s and 70s, but there are things about the new format (ownership) that has some plusses.

Up to this year, I was a DCTF subscriber, so they would send me their regular magaaziine through the mail. They also printed and sent out recruiting edition during the off season. However, their recruiting editon left a lot to be desired. Nothing I would read was timely.

I still like the mag and will buy it from the racks from now on.

They are surprisingly good at picking the HS districts and playoffs.

Several Texas high school football programs have announced head coaching changes for the upcoming season. Here's a summary of some notable moves: Birdville saw Lon Holbrook transition to an administrative role, with Chris Smith taking over as head coach. Hillcrest moved on from Jacob Ramon, and Adrian Madise was named the new head coach. Keller Timber Creek promoted Austin Kaehn to head coach after the previous coach joined Lovejoy. Lovejoy also saw a major change, with Todd Dodge replacing Chris Ross. McKinney hired Nate Leonard from New Braunfels Canyon to lead their program. Thanks for starting the thread. I always loved to watch the DCTF high-school football scoreboard and the the final that came on i think around 11pm on Fridays. The one that Craig Way co hosts. It was on Fox SW then the terrible Bally Sports but I think that is gone now. Anyone know what channel or app it will be this year?

FoxSports SW has a pretty decent show that includes Craig Way. Maybe that is what you're thinking of?

Small note - Lake Travis has a Tight End named Harrison Kolkhorst. Big kid and plays lacrosse. Has several scholarship offers for lacrosse, but he is a guy that could burst on the scene his senior season as the starting TE for the Cavs. Had a 60 yard TD on Saturday in scrimmage. LT plays some good games this season against Arlington Martin, Midland Lee, Westlake, etc. Should be a fun season! We will be keeping an eye on him and a handful of other kids from LT.

This show is going away in the way we used to know it. Craig was always on it with a few others including Greg Tepper who is the Editor in chief of DCTF. Basically the old Fox Sports SW/Bally Sports/Fanduel sports is going bankrupt. But DTCF and Tepper are teasing a new show on Friday nights with plans to release details this week!
