A very unfamiliar face will ride into DKR Saturday to play the Longhorns – the Kentucky Wildcats.
The all time series between these two teams stands at Texas 1, Kentiucky 0. The lone meeting was in 1951 where Texas won 7-6. Ed Price was the coach at Texas while Bear Bryant was the coach at Kentucky.
This time around it will be Sark vs Mark Stoops (brother of satan)
Kentucky needs to win two games to become bowl eligible.
No. 3 Texas (9-1, 5-1) vs. Kentucky (4-6, 1-6)
2:30 pm CST, Saturday • ABC TV • Texas is a 20.5 pt favorite • It's Senior Day at DKR
Kentucky has lost four consecutive games, dropping decisions to Tennessee, Auburn, Florida and Vanderbilt.
They took the Georgia Bulldogs to the wire in a 13-12 loss on Sept. 14 before upsetting then-No. 6 Ole Miss on the road two weeks later for a 20-17 win. So they can be a problem if we let them hang around.
Will Texas get caught looking ahead to aggy? Or will they take it one game at a time once more?
Kentucky has a very good defense, ranking 29th nationally. They rank #6 in red zone effeciency and #21 in scoring defense. They are allowing 322 yards per game on average.
Offensively, Kentucky has struggled and is one of the worst offenses in the SEC. They average 340 yards per game and 21 pts per game.
However, they do have athletes on that side of the ball so they can be surprisingly explosive at times.
