2026 PORTAL

So if people are reaching out to him, wouldn't that be tampering? Or is he taking a chance by just seeing how much he can get?
Tampering is happening. Multiple coaches have addressed it. Even Sark said NCAA has no teeth. It’ll continue until NCAA decides to do something about it.

Lol at Moore thinking he's worth more than we were paying him. Good luck at your next stop!

Agree, but there are teams out there who will pay him more than we were williing to.

Moore is good, steady, but not spectacular. IMO, he's reached his ceiling already. And I think thats why staff didn't want to throw money at him.

That and he might be hearing footsteps behind him.

This graphic shows the percentage of recruited players (HS) vs hired guns (portal) that each playoff team had this year. They're measuring this by number of starts across the board. Pretty telling, IMO.

From whom ?

Ryan Wingo, I would imagine. If you look at the stats of Moore, they were rather average. That would not be expected to increase as Wingo looked to be expanding his role toward the end of the season.

The young freshman trio we have will now have another year behind them and will get added playing time.

And then there's the Jermaine Bishop factor.

I assume this is what Baron was talking about.

Moore was overpaid last year because of not meeting expected production. So on the heels of that, he wanted much more.

Texas being smart.

I think that is the key here. I think Moore overvalues himself and Texas doesn't. I hope he gets what he wants and he produces, but I also hope Texas spends wisely in areas of need. Good luck to the young man.
