Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-Recruiting)

We currently have four 5-star commits. I don't know if I ever saw Mack do that well.

Mack would only recruit an out of state kid if they had an in with him somehow or were contacted by the recruit. Otherwise, he was all-Texas. You could probably say he didn't need to leave the state too much.

Sark has us recruiting on a national level like we've never done before. And he still gets a fair share of the in-state kids.
Well we had 4 in 2002 as well. Two from out of state.

WR ideal #11 on roster 7+ 1 portal When Sark arrived at Texas there was 13 WRS he said proably too many. Said at Ala. he had 9 proably not enough. includes 3 commitments.

LBS ideal #7 on roster 5

DBS ideal #17 on roster 13+ the 2

Nice work.

I hope we get a LB in the portal. Need some experience.

Mubuka should solve the riddle at Safety.

Yes, Sark is outstanding in the recruiting department, and he's only going to get better. Success on the playing field by playing for and hopefully winning more championships, clear evidence of players being developed and drafted, and access to NIL opportunities that no other school can beat are all reasons it should only get better from here. On top of that, it's obvious that players love playing for Sark and his staff, and news of that gets around to recruits.
One more tailwind for recruiting...Sark is well-known as a QB whisperer who can land and coach up the very best guys at the position. That attracts many of the other top players on offense who want to play with a winner. And that draws top defensive players who want to get on the bandwagon to a championship.

Something else that seldom gets mentioned is faith. While he doesn't talk about it much publicly, Sark and his wife are practicing Christians. The same is obviously true of many of the coaches. This plays well with a lot of recruits as well as their parents who want their sons to be led by men of God. It also adds to the overall positive character of the team as evidenced by Sark not having any players getting in trouble off the field that I can recall. Contrast that with some teams that always seem to have a few guys with off the field issues. I mean, who wouldn't want their son coached by Sark and his staff?

Got told by Aggie co-worker that during the DKR days there wasn’t a scholarship cap said DKR would give schollys to 200 kids even though there was no chance in them playing. AND THATS why the head to head battle numbers are so skewed, ever since there was a cap it’s even… I just sat there, just came to my office to tell me that out of know where 😅
