Sure, and the problem with the loser of this game is they won't make their conference championship.

Win the conference and see where things land. Texas hasn't done well in the last 13 years, but it sure would be nice to bookend championships in this league.

Michigan would drop to 10. They still have only played 1 ranked team. And you know the rest. They don’t want them in.

As much as I would like to see Texas get in, I think it's reasonable to look at the entire body of work.

alabama has improved as the season has progressed. If they beat Georgia then that shouldn't be ignored.

You compare that to the Texas season where we barely beat 3 teams that a playoff level team shouldn't struggle with, and got beat by an ou team that isn't nearly as good as the gooners want to believe. If we win the CCG it won't be against a highly tanked team(in that way its unfortunate ou isn't undefeated).

Milroe is playing way better then what we saw against Texas. If we played Bama now on a neutral site I would guess they would be favored.

Just like early season losses don't hurt your rankings as much as late season losses, early season quality wins should count less then late season quality wins.

If I wasn't a Texas fan , and if I had to pick which of those resumes looked better, I would pick bama.

Couldn't disagree more. All you have is speculation with regard to how good Bama is right now. Texas might well kick their butt again and cause him to lose his job, again.

We didn't just beat them. We beat them by double digits in their HOUSE.

If that doesn't matter, then schedule a bunch of cupcakes and call it a day.

If they beat Georgia, they’re in. No doubt. SEC champ. 12-1. But if they win we’re not competing with them. They’ll be 1 or 2. We would be competing with Georgia. Coming off a loss. And no championship. We may then get credit for beating Alabama.

I guess those 2 sets of arguments are the exact dilemma that the committee would need to decide on. Neither argument is unreasonable.

Yes, the "easiest" path to the playoffs is #1 win out and win the big 12 & FSU losing...

I would agree with that. Can't imagine the SEC being locked out of the playoffs.

Georgia would drop to 6 or 7. I think Bama has a decent shot at beating GA. The dogs have their issues.

I was listening to ESPN off campus today. They were talking about FSU losing some momentum in the CFP rankings and they were thinking it was because their QB is injured and out. If Louisville beats FSU, do they have a claim to stake at a CFP berth? They have one loss and would be a conference champion and beat a highly ranked team.

Over B12 conference champion Texas? No.
LU was beaten by a mediocre Pittsburgh team and only have one win over a ranked team...ND was #17 at the time. And LU still has to beat Kentucky.

Louisville's win would be over an FSU team without its quarterback. We would have beaten Alabama. Our best win would be better, our second best win would be better, our third best win would be better, etc., etc.
