I was at Moody coliseum today to watch my granddaughter graduate. Sweat from football team and Bishop from basketball team walked with her.

it was a damn good time

watched her older brother graduate there a few years ago. He was second team all big 12 fullback

Catfish bait, was called Sonnys after the owner. Kids sold the company now called Triple S S S.

I assume you do not fish for catfish. As most all catfisher men know what sonnys is. Might be some betterbutso for I have not found any.
kinda like Catfish Charlie? We used to combine that with peanut butter. Worked like a champ.

Same type of bait but IMO Sonnysis much better.  When cats are biting most anything will work. Secert is getting them tobite when not hungty.

I have tried around adozen brands and only onemight have been better than Sonnys. A local made bait Rock Hoppers.

When I was a kid, my uncle took me cat fishing at Daingerfield State Park. It was cool and pouring rain through the whole day. We caught a few but the guy next to us, using that Charlie/Peanut butter recipe, was catching them hands over fist. We learned something that day. lol

I just climbed aboard a new deer lease (new for me). Its about 18 miles east/northeast of Paris. I went there last weekend to look around. I grew up not far from this area but had never actually had reason to go to the Paris, Clarksville area. Thats some of the prettiest scenery in East Texas, IMO.

I hunted Dangerfield area for years. Lots of big bucks out there, good hog hunting too !

I finally broke down and bought a property near Childress. I really enjoy hunting out there

North east of Parishas really grown in last 20-25 years Clarksville went the other direction. Was very good deer hunting in early nintes last time I hunted there.

Just or informTion north of Detroit at the river marker where SamHouston crossed thr Red, Also first white woman to give berth in Texas is buried there.

For channels or blues, nothing can beat fresh shad. IMO.
On a trot line you could be right. Live perch for me gives a chance at Aips.

Cane pole or rod and reel to me Sonnys will catch more. That being said I  ormaly fish with 3-4 rods 1 sonnys, 1 cataba worm and 1 cut shad and see what best that day. Sonnysa d cataba worms are much lesswork to get for a old man

My wife is a gourmet cook and was challenged by a neighbor who considered himself a master at making catfish stink bait.

She came up with two recipes. One she called "Shrimp Butter"  and another called "Bad Shad". In a side by side competition, "Shrimp Butter" beat the neighbor's concoction 5 to 1, and "Bad Shad" beat Catfish Charlie's 3 to 1.

She's never made another batch ?

Where I'm at is off of State Hwy 195 between Woodland and Manchester. That's directly north of Detroit. Still pretty remote, not a lot of development out there. Closer to Paris, there are some very nice homes.

The game cams where I'm at have been picking up shots of Black Bears. Most of them are yearlings but one or two looked to be good size (could be same bear, not sure). But the Bucks out there are large with large racks. Had 6 bucks taken last year on this lease (8 guys), all over 10-pts.

Your lease is near Lees ille or Addielou if etween awoodland and Manchester.. Still aremote area some big farms on FM 410 near the river. Thats where the little park with graves is located. If you have time worth the shortdrive over to it,. erygood meat processing plant in Detroit, but they are extreamly busy.

Yes, very close to Leesville Baptist Church.

Yeah, first question I asked was "where do we take for processing?" They all said Detroit.
