SignUp Now!He certainly doesn't call the plays, so this is mostly true, although I suspect he does have extra responsibilities and say in the running of the offense.in title and in salary...
I'm guessing it's because Sark thought he was still the best WR even with a broken hand. I'm also guessing that it was a minor break as opposed to a major break. Or something like that.If Worthy’s hand was broken then why keep throwing to him?
Correct. Sark has said he has responsibility in forming the gameplan, scripting practice, and help creating the play sheet Sark uses on Saturdays. Basically does everything outside of play calling. He certainly doesn't call the plays, so this is mostly true, although I suspect he does have extra responsibilities and say in the running of the offense.
with his early enrollment that changed everyone's "timetable"....if he shows he is capable of running the offense better than QE then he does no worse than QB2, same goes for Maalik..Yes part of it is coach speak, luckily he as all of spring to learn the offense and all of summer to bulk up and put some muscle on that scrawny frame...I hope MM gets a fair shake or we will lose him...If this were fall camp we would all be laughing at the statement, but its spring and lots can happen between now and the start of the season...I cant think of one major QB1 that didnt get dinged up at some point last yearDid Sark just create a QB controversy? Lot's of media outlets seem to want to run with this. I myself think it was mostly coach speak. Sark would be shooting himself in the foot if he started Manning over QE. Just for continuity's sake QE needs to be the starter, unless Manning is 100% hands down outplaying Ewers.
And as far as keeping the broken hand for X a secret, I'm not a big fan of hiding that after the season was concluded.
It’s the media wanting to get clicks and headlines. We have a 5-star freshman QB with the last name of greatest QB lineage in NFL history and we have a 5-star perfect score recruit that transferred to Texas and underperformed everyone’s expectations last year. The media will have fun with this and it’s Texas. The college football giant with all the revenue and none of the big wins the last 13 years. Coach Sark likely trying to do this to push his QBs to make no one too comfortable with being the starter.Did Sark just create a QB controversy? Lot's of media outlets seem to want to run with this. next year started after the Alamo Bowl...and QE perfect rating was how many seasons ago....imagine this scenario, QE gets injured in game 1 vs Alabama in Tuscaloosa and out comes Maalik Murphy, what will the fan reaction be then...Sark had a great recruiting year, he and his staff should be congratulated...but NOTHING short of a playoff berth will satisfy the fan baseIt’s the media wanting to get clicks and headlines. But it’s also the reality. Ewers wasn’t very good last year. We have some amazing QB recruits sitting behind him. Sark needs to win. We are moving to the SEC next year and we can’t be a shitty team like the Aggies. The fan base has been waiting to win consistently for too long.
if Ewers sucks next year, there will no patience from the fan base.

the great power 5 programs keep reloading year after year.....we aren't even in the conversation yet
My understanding is that the quote was something like "every position is open and the guys will have to compete to start". He said the same thing last year and we debated (some argued) about Card vs QE....so he starts QE, he goes down and its the Card show....I like Sark, defended him all last year and he is still my guy to coach our Team...but if there is one trait that bugs me is that is can be stubborn like a rented mule...I can see now why HC transferred, Where would he have been on this years chart ?My understanding is that the quote was something like "every position is open and the guys will have to compete to start". Media headline "Sark confirms there will be a QB battle". It's Click bait all the way
Absolutely. He had to transfer to get PT with the time he has left. He couldn't afford to sit behind QE another year. I'm not sure Murphy wouldn't have passed him on the depth chart. He said the same thing last year and we debated (some argued) about Card vs QE....so he starts QE, he goes down and its the Card show....I like Sark, defended him all last year and he is still my guy to coach our Team...but if there is one trait that bugs me is that is can be stubborn like a rented mule...I can see now why HC transferred, Where would he have been on this years chart ?
Especially when Whitt and Sanders are very capable WRs. That's a big head scratcher.Absolutely. He had to transfer to get PT with the time he has left. He couldn't afford to sit behind QE another year. I'm not sure Murphy wouldn't have passed him on the depth chart.
Sark is stubborn though, I agree. How he threw to Worthy with a broken hand so damned much while getting lackluster results the whole time speaks to that.
