From IT on the new NIL rules:

"In the middle of Wednesday’s hysteria it was mentioned everything in the ‘Fret not’ piece is already in the works. That is, some ambitious alums are working to build a sophisticated network to enrich Texas players. We’re going to keep details on the apparatus quiet but it’s being run by the sorts of competent and motivated people you’d want running it."

Per IT, Sark had a Zoom call with CB Jaylon Guilbeau the evening of his de-commitment.

He didn't put the hard sell on him in order to keep him in the class.

That's exactly what it sounded or felt like with Jaylon throughout his commitment.  I'd imagine something like this was said, "we would love have you, but you have to do what you feel is right".  Not exactly a ringing endorsement for kid needing "love".  It just feels like they're not completely heartbroken over this, imo.

I absolutely love the timing of all this.  Maybe Texas planned it this way or maybe TAMU sped up the timeline by leaking it.  Either way, this is perfect timing for the July 30th bash in Austin with players like Anderson, Perkins and Stewart to name a few.

Come to think of it, didn't Sark or someone reference or state Texas was gonna say or do something regarding the NIL that would be BIG?  Could this SEC news be it?

I would rather this fast timeline be the by-product of an TAMU leak that just blew up in their face. However, it was likely a calculated move by the Texas Big 3.
TAMU leaked it. Thought they'd cut it off by doing so. It did nothing but speed it up.

Are high rated 4 star DB so plentiful that Texas does not try to keep them? Then I guess playing TCU is out.

This is exactly what I was talking about when we signed Marcus Carr.
This operation was put in motion prior to the NIL ruling. We literally have a de facto department of staff and “non staff” building an NIL corporation. The resources and networking in play would put major advertising and sports agencies to shame. A Rolodex of business partners, a legal team to construct contracts, the Longhorn brand, with SEC viewership. “ What stars here.....”, well you know.

Sometimes that means a commitment but so many times we never hear anything after we see these.  So I guess it could be a silent commitment.  How many silent does anyone think we have right now?  Commitments don’t mean much because they can change at pretty much any point but they are kinda fun to get.
I can tell you one of the "silents" will commit to another school.

Its not egg on the face. Its UT not taking a commitment, thus the "silent" thing.

Texas joining the $EC (should I still represent the conference this way?) will change the recruiting landscape for Texas, this year, not next. IMO
With the NIL, $ takes on a whole new meaning.  Texa$ in the $ec

Check back when the class is signed and Texas has two CBS rated higher than Guilbeau.

You know he's got to be thinking hard about that decision he just made. TCU is headed for the American Conference where they'll play Western Kentucky and be aired on the TCU network. Oh wait, they don't have a TCU network. lol

If there is a point to all of this, its going to SEC did not help keep him. GP negative recruited him..

If he is good enough the pros will find even at Podunk U.Tcu nas sent CBS to pros.

Not foot ball but the road to Omahajust got alot steeper.

It will be hilarious to see the aggy spin/reaction if we get Stewart, Perkins, and maybe another 5* or two due to the SEC move since that's pretty much what has helped aggy get them in the past.
