TEXAS

Texas combines some of the elements that the other schools on the list have.

With head coach Steve Sarkisian coming from Alabama, he will implement a very similar offense that will utilize skill players like Waddle and Smith. Wide receivers coach Andre Coleman has, along with Sark, been in contact with Coleman.

Similarly to Florida State, Coleman has played 7-on-7 with some Longhorn comits like Jaydon Blue and Jaylon Guilbeau. 

With the schools on his list being further from home, Texas is actually one of the closer options, although Coleman has never said distance or location will be a factor.

That said, the Longhorns have now positioned themselves among the contenders in this race and will have an opportunity with this new-look staff to show him what the offense will look like this fall.

So, if everything works out correctly by fall camp, Texas could have two experienced, former 5* LBs (Gaoteote and Davis)1 near 5* 2021 WR (Worthy) added to the roster?  Along with the return of D. Overshown, J. Smith, D. Kerstetter and all the incoming Fr.  This team is gonna be a lot more talented than what we see in the Spring game and that is very exciting.  They did lose Mitchell and will likely lose Epps, but overall improved...on paper.

According to IT Ben Davis is already coming and he will play the Jack which replaces the defensive end. We are thin at LB, so LB Palaie Gaoteote would be a great addition.

According to Inside Texas, Ben Davis has transferred to Texas and joined Steve Sarkisian’s roster. A former five-star recruit, Davis joins LSU‘s Ray Thornton and Notre Dame‘s Ovie Oghoufo as new additions at the Jack position.

I think we gained more than we lost. Thornton is proving to be quite a player.
