Both Lodge and Mack, less than a week ago, said that the wouldn't be visiting Texas and that it wasn't the place for them. Posturing, or did something change?

Kyler Murray was a solid aggie commitment last week as far as they knew, not so much now.
Oh you know Vance is eating this up! I would love to hear a "Vance Rants" over this situation. Vance understands better than anyone how big it would be to land Murray away from the Ags and the windfall that would follow. By better than anyone I mean he KNOWS the rivalry, he played it. Don't get me wrong, Strong knows it but Vance LIVED it. I can already hear Charlie saying "Please don't go anywhere NEAR a microphone for a few weeks Vance."

Now on the other hand… I can imagine Charlie Strong guaranteeing a recruit or player:
Charlie tells it like it is.
Great players want to be driven… and coached.
And… they want to be around others that want the same.
I believe this is what is starting to separate Charlie Strong's recruiting efforts… and is building momentum.

The only thing Strong guaranteed was
1) A true open competition
2) A solid education
3) That he would watch over Kevin's son
4) He will push him harder than he has ever been pushed
5) He will help mold him into a responsible young man in 4 yrs.
There is absolutely no chance in hell Charlie told him that he would be the starter from day one.

Billy Douchey doesn't know anything about CFS's recruiting pitch. He's just pandering to his ignorant aggie fan base. It pays the bills.
Agreed.
Charlie has spent a year molding the values into a team that was a mess. The main message is hard work pays off. Now he is going to give the starting job to a kid that hasn't even enrolled? That entire team would see him as a hypocrite and he would be done.
But hey, Aggie gonna Aggie I guess.

From what i read in the Kai Locksley thread..Locksley stated that Coach Watson is explaining that The Longhorns have no Starter at QB...Any incoming QB Recruit has no one in front of em and It is truly a wide open position that is up for grabs..Locksley also stated that reason alone, is drawing him to Texas...I can only assume, this same pitch is being explained to Murray as well. Any true competitor would want to hear that

Agree, CS is not going to guarantee the QB job to any recruit. Since Kyler's dad is a former QB, I'm sure he expects his son to win the job on merit.
