2015 Recruiting Season is in full swing

Higdon is still saying something big is going down, "As many of you know, I have eluded to something big in the works for some time now. It is going to happen, I can promise you that and this could be the only time you ever see me promise anything with regards to anything recruiting related because I just don't do that. That is how strongly I feel about this situation."

Wonder how many subscriptions he'll sell because of that.

Something big might happen - he might have known about it all along - it still bugs the hell out of me the way they go about their business.

*And if Kai Locksley is the 'something big' well then consider me underwhelmed.

I'm not saying Higdon hasn't been hitting his mark lately. Because he has. But it's so easy to refer to something as objective as "big" when you're being so incredibly vague. I hope he's right. But when I see comments like this made by insiders, it's just....blah.

I agree. From what I've seen most guys tend to hedge their bets on things like this. I'll give the guy credit, he's been all in on this "rumor" from the get go and hasn't hedged his bets at all. I guess we will find out if he's blowing smoke up our ass or if he really knows something. One things for sure he thinks something big is going to go down, whatever that means.

I've been saying for some time now. "Insiders" just have a way of phrasing stuff and/or being just vague enough that no matter what happens they can claim they were right. LMAO at the people who hang on to everything they hear from an "insider" and even thank them sometimes for the "information" they just received.

"Something big is fixing to happen in recruiting". No shit, Sherlock!

That he has. And like I said, he's been pretty dead on. So I doubt it's going to be us announcing a greyshirt or anything. But lord only knows what he's actually referring to. I mean he could think something is happening with Murray, that never happens, and then he claim it was us hiring Levine and that it's big news because so on and so on.

There is a big risk you run with being an "insider". You either go vague and annoy people with how limited you're being your promotion of a secret. Or you go completely transparent and put all your cards on the table with the risk of it blowing up in your face. That happened to an "insider" on this very site and I don't think he's lived it down yet.

im sick of it anyways ...its like im seeing Mrs. Cleo when I see Higdon type something like this..its like psychic friends network moment

In journalism speak, I think it's called a "tease".

It's just insiders fishing for clicks. I don't take that very seriously, either.

5 star DT, former LSU commit, Edwin Alexander wants to visit Texas. My goodness I wish we had more room. FYI he's the number 10 overall player in the country per 247.

That's per Rivals.

Yeah the only way I will be surprised is if The big news is that ucla qb recruit is switching his commitment to us due to Mora leaving, otherwise I'm not surprised.

For the number 10 overall player in the country you find room. Especially when it is a defensive or offensive lineman.
There's no doubt we would make room for Alexander (he's ranked higher than Mack on 247). I'm more referring to players that are probably going to get left out like Newsome.

Wow...if we somehow landed this kid and Daylon Mack?

We may not need to score any points on offense!

i thought Alexander was a 2015 recruit but he's actually in the 2016 class. I still want though.

I look at Higdon alittle different than you guys.  I think he has been pretty spot this class on, more accurate than anyone else.  I also believe he is connected going back to their Florida days.  There is a relationship there, with some level of trust established.  So, I see him as something of a mouthpiece for Strong and company.  In other words, when Higdon says something, there is always going to be a chance that it is a specially tailored something Strong et al. want out there.  This is in contrast to someone like Burton who still seems to be angry over losing his Belmont connections.

In any event, neither this^ nor any of it really matter.  It just gives us something to talk about while waiting.
