University of Texas catcher Tres Barrera hit a total of 41 home runs, 25 of them coming in the final round, to capture the 2014 College Home Run Derby crown at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.
The competition began with 8 sluggers and after two rounds, Sharyland High School teammates Tres Barrera (Texas) and Eric Gutierrez (Texas Tech) were leftto battle it out in the final round. Barrera had his work cut out after hitting only 5 home runs in the 2nd round, compared to Gutierrez's 19.
Barrera responded, hitting 25 home runs, followed by Gutierrez's 18.
