Class of 2016 forward Joyner Holmes (Cedar Hill, TX) has committed to play basketball at the University of Texas.  Holmes, who is the second-ranked player in the country for her class, made the announcement via twitter on Friday.

She chose Texas over the Tennessee and Notre Dame basketball programs.
Holmes is the third commit in the class for Texas head coach Karen Aston, joining point guard Alecia Sutton (Parkway North High School - St. Louis, Missouri) and wing player Jada Underwood (Horn High School - Mesquite, Texas).  Sutton is ranked 7th nationally by HoopGurlz.
In addition to playing basketball, Holmes runs the 100-meter dash and participates in the long jump and triple jump for Cedar Hill.
She also played for the 2014 FIBA U17 USA World Championship Women's Team.
