Longhorn News/Discussion (Non-recruiting)

I love this 2018 class.  Can't wait for them to develop.  All these guys are great, but the one guy I'm really looking forward to see in a couple years is Ojomo.  Some people will look at the * rating and not think much, but to think he was only 16 and will grow more is astonishing.  No doubt in my mind this kid would've been a high 4*, bordering on 5, if this was his senior year.

I guess that 4.8 40 wasn't a mistake for O'Neal.  Woodard smoked him like he was a pylon. Either that or Woodard runs a 4.1.

Most safeties won’t do well in that situation, but yeah that just shows you that Leon doesn’t have the athleticism to walk out and cover WRs and is likely a box safety long term.

IT is saying Jamison is working at slot WR.

Just read this very interesting.

I don't remember anywhere in his recruiting that he was mentioned as anything other then a DB/Returner

@Daniel Seahorn wouldn't Overshown be an ideal fit for the Rover LB spot? I mean he is both great in coverage having played S most of the time, but also big and physical enough to be closer to the LOS? Do you have any thoughts on this?

Another thing: What about Jamison playing slot. I'm not aware he ever played WR in HS and have no idea about his hands and route running ability. But he excels in the return game and has some athletic ability that would suit well in the slot. He is quick, shows the ability to make YAC and is physical enough to play in the middle.

You should listen to me more ;)

He was projected as a nickel, but the staff is going to experiment with him in the slot due to the need at the position.

    • The more turmoil the better in regards to Bru/Texas. I’m curious to how restless the natives will get if USC gets blown out next week by the Fighting Irish.
    • My initial thoughts . . .  1. I expected a big letdown when Sam left the game. Buechele held up well, even ran a couple times for good yardage. Very pleased with him. 2. Lil Jordan Humphrey – if he were to return to UT next year, he'd be in the Heisman conversation. He is special. 3. Bru McCoy, were you watching LJH tonight? 4. For all the pre-game hype about ISU's defense, we ran the ball pretty much at will on them. 5. It's easy to see that Sam's running ability and the seriousness of that threat make this offense percolate. Without him, its a very different offense. 6. Defense showed up well tonight. Anyone catch Ossai on the game's last play? They were having fun out there. 7. I felt really good about the play calling for most of the game. However, there seemed to be a 4-5 play rotation that kept going. Not sure if by design or because thats what ISU was giving them. But great job overall. 8. We better not coast against Kansas. They played OU a helluva half of football today. 9. My defensive player of the game would be Charles Omenihu (sp?). He played a helluva game. 10. Offensive MVP was LJH. Hon Mention to the duo of Tre Watson and Ingram and the OL.
    • Told y'all. Should I pick Kansas next week?
    • Evans, Broughton, Lindberg, Omerie, and Chris Thompson were all at this game.  Have to think we took a big step with all these guys.  Not to mention 5* Kelee Ringo.
    • Kickers for the game: Dicker and Assalley.  Hehehehehehe
