Rumor is that Shimonek is out and that McLane Carter, lefty juco transfer, will start at QB. Played HS at Gilmer and one year at Tyler JC where he threw for over 300 yards in 7 straight games including 578 yards in one game.

Those seem like good numbers but he hasn’t started all season for a reason, see if he can do it against Orlando and company

Also interesting that the line took a pretty good move overnight from 10 to 7.5. Don't know if it has anything to do with it but evidently some Texas players were sick earlier in the week.

ohhh boy.... surly we kill that spread.... but then again a W is a W at this point

Report is now out that Carter will start. I’m familiar with him from his TJC days and thought he was a pretty solid pickup for Tech. Not an ideal situation to get his first start though.

Yeah the spread dropping like that doesn’t make sense unless there is something going on that we aren’t aware of. Very interesting.

Good numbers but it wont translate from JUCO to tonights game.  Orlando's defense confuses experienced QB's.

Carter better wear a flak jacket, he is toast.

I’d like to see us do to him what Carl Reese’s defense did to Kingsbury. They knocked him around pretty good. I remember one of the plays Kingsbury was laying on his back with his helmet nearly knocked off.....his chinstrap was up around his eyes and part of the grass stuck in his helmet. We brought the pain that night.

    • Most had Jones at the top. Anderson and Eric Monroe were after him in various orders.
    • Two good friends probably hoping they can play together, but I haven’t heard of any interest on Texas’ end. Holton played corner. Anderson is a safety all the way.
    • I'll be further east, near the Arkansas border. But I hear we have a good shot for rain Saturday evening. Only supposed to be a half inch though. Maybe more where your pond is at. Where I'll be, they calling for all-day rain with lows in the low 30s which should be fun.
    • SHA In your line of work I'm sure you're in good with the rain gods. Please ask them for rain in Kaufman County. My duck ponds are dry.
    • I don't know that a door closed. I know there are plenty of schools seeking his services. We're losing DeShon Elliott and Anderson might make a nice home there if PJ Locke isn't up to the task. Ole Miss lists Anderson as 6'1, 221 lbs. Thats almost the same as DE with similar skills. He will be a junior and with a great showing, could be a one and done. I don't think it would have much effect on the young guns coming in. There's two safeties in that group – BJ Foster and Caden Sterns. It would be great to be able to redshirt them. Having Anderson around would certainly help make that happen. All that said, I have no idea if this is the out of nowhere guy. Would be cool if it is.
